CoSINe will begin offering early bird migration from the CoS Email service to EOL immediately. Those of you who wish to migrate early may do so by submitting a request to the CoSINe help desk email address:helpdesk@cosine.oregonstate.edu. This open migration period will run through the end of November of this year. Then, beginning in December, we will start to migrate all remaining accounts over to EOL by college departments. The goal is to have all user accounts migrated off the CoSINe Email service by the end of December 2020.

Questions

  1. Will I be able to keep my current @science.oregonstate.edu or @{dept}.oregonstate.edu address(es)?

Yes. Because these addresses have been in use for many years, we can maintain aliases for existing @science.oregonstate.edu and @{dept}.oregonstate.edu addresses. Eventually, the alias will also be moved over to EOL.

NOTE: You will be able to receive email to your existing email address, however you will not be able to send email as your {user_name}@{dept}.oregonstate.edu or {user_name}@science.oregonstate.edu until we can move those domains over to EOL.

  2. I do not want to use Outlook for e-mail. Can I still use Thunderbird or Apple Mail to access my messages on EOL?

Yes, instructions on how to set up Thunderbird, Apple Mail, and other clients can be found here »
